After a hugely successful installation in the Muñoz Waxman Gallery at The Center for Contemporary Arts, CCA and Meow Wolf have collaborated to form a program designed to enhance the artistic and social development of the Santa Fe youth. Mainly focused on school aged children, with a few opportunities to reach college level students, Chimera will reach up to 800 youth a year.
Working directly with 5 Meow Wolf artists per class, students will learn collaborative practice through visual art, digital media, literary art, performance, and media literacy. Hands-on projects with Meow Wolf, including immersive installations, short films, and theatrical performances, will showcase the work of the students.

A collaboration with Wood Gormley Elementary School, during Meow Wolf’s The Due Return installation, pioneered Chimera. Currently, the program will be implemented into The New Mexico School for Arts, The Santa Fe Public Schools, and The Santa Fe University of Art and Design.
With your support, Chimera will provide a meaningful education in collaboration and the arts for Santa Fe youth. Funding is essential in reducing the instructor-to-student ratio within the classroom, giving each child an opportunity for one-on-one interactions with professional artists.
CHIMERA’s MISSION
Chimera’s mission is to introduce students to collaboration through artistic practice regardless of medium, skill level, or aesthetic. Students will create works that transcend individual abilities and become empowered by seeing their works showcased within exhibits alongside the work of established artists.
ABOUT MEOW WOLF
Meow Wolf operates collaboratively on every level and is open to any and all individuals to take part. Participants of Meow Wolf are also welcome to create projects and lead them to fruition using Meow Wolf’s name, standing in the community, organizational structure, tools, materials, and funding to help their project become a reality.
UPDATE
At this years annual Recycle Santa Fe, Chimera students collectively won first place in the 3rd-6th grade Youth Juried Art Exhibit!
