The spector ripps project space, named after a generous contribution by Steven Spector and Robert Ripps, emphasizes CCA's devotion to the creation, presentation, interpretation and dissemination of the work of innovative artists in all media, fostering creativity and uninhibited exploration within the community. Located in CCA's current Lobby Gallery, the exhibitions will be three weeks in duration.

Regional artists and curators are encouraged to submit proposals for exhibitions and installations to: Cyndi Conn at cyndi@ccasantafe.org or call 982-1338 ex.14 for more information.

SHEILAH WILSON | FOREVER MAGIC
June 16 – July 13, 2008

Forever Magic is the latest project by New Mexico—based conceptual artist Sheilah Wilson after returning from a residency at New Pacific Studio in Masterton, New Zealand. Wilson investigates the human desire for transcendence through art that playfully and humorously articulates this struggle.

Trevor Lucero describes his work as being infused with an “anxious post-punk sensibility with a stable iconography of the American West.” He uses his images—all recognizable stereotypes of the West—“to measure or examine cultural exchange between disparate communities.”
