Celebrate Halloween with a fundraising screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960), benefiting the Street Homeless Animal Project (SHAP). A portion of every ticket goes to SHAP, a Santa Fe nonprofit that has spent more than 25 years helping people experiencing homelessness keep the animals they love, with food, supplies, vaccinations and emergency vet care brought straight to the street.
Cinema Director Matthew Cannella opens the night with a short talk on the film’s history. Costumes encouraged, with spooky photo ops and light refreshments in the lobby.
Phoenix secretary Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) steals $40,000 and flees, stopping for the night at the remote Bates Motel, run by the polite but highly strung Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins). Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. 1960. 109 minutes. Rated R.
